As part of our continuous website restructuring, we have decided to better utilize our site's traffic by ensuring potential Bitcoin ATM users can easily find what they are looking for directly on the website they open. Previously, many users were confused when searching for a nearby Bitcoin ATM on Google and landing on our site, which suggested purchasing a Bitcoin ATM instead. Moving forward, we will be committed to improving the current routines for our prospective customers and end-users of Bitcoin ATMs, making it a win-win for all sides. The project doesn't aim to compete with existing solutions but to supplement them, providing our devoted community with a solution that updates daily with the freshest possible data, the solution they can trust. The webpage functions like a separate website, so the targeted audience will be less confused. We also made this map to make it the easiest, minimalistic, and fastest locator possible.
A Global Reach with Local Benefits
The new Bitcoin ATM map encapsulates a vast network that promises global reach and local convenience. End-users of ATMs can find the quickest and easiest way to purchase and sell Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies with just a few clicks. The interactive map provides detailed information about each ATM, including the exact address, operating hours, and supported cryptocurrencies. Each ATM listing comes with a "Click to navigate" button that opens Google Maps for seamless directions. Additional details like the operator's name, website, social media links, and supported fiat currencies provide a comprehensive snapshot of each ATM.
Safety and Securing
General Bytes emphasizes the importance of safety with a notice warning users against scam calls or emails. The company reminds users that bills, fines, or fees cannot be paid with Bitcoin and advises verifying transaction legitimacy. Additionally, General Bytes clarifies that it does not operate ATMs directly—the map serves purely for informational purposes. Users can contact specific ATM operators through detailed contact information provided on the map and ATM screens. Remember: never send any cryptocurrency to unknown addresses. Refrain from strangers contacting you by phone asking to go to the Bitcoin ATM and insert banknotes.
General Bytes and its operational partners ensure high security through physical safeguards, software security measures, KYC/AML compliance, remote monitoring, and encrypted communications.
What cryptocurrencies are supported?
Currently you can filter the map by these cryptocurrencies: Bitcoin (BTC, on-chain), Bitcoin over Lightning (LBTC), Ether (ETH), USD Coin (USDC), Dogecoin (DOGE), Litecoin (LTC), Ripple (XRP), Monero (XMR), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Shiba Inu (SHIB), Cardano (ADA), Tether USDT (ERC20), Tether USDT (TRC20) and ChainLink (LINK). Crypto ATMs may support even more coins, although the list provided on the map is currently limited.
What countries are supported?
Our Bitcoin ATM map covers a vast network of ATMs globally. We currently have ATM locations listed in over 60 countries across North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Asia, Australia, and other regions. The coverage is constantly expanding as more Bitcoin ATMs are deployed worldwide.
What kind of Bitcoin ATMs are presented on the map?
Our map showcases four distinct types of Bitcoin ATMs, each identified by unique map markers.
- A Regular Bitcoin ATM (or one-way Bitcoin ATM) allows you to buy Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies using cash. They are the most common, over 90% of all global Bitcoin ATMs.
- One-way ATM that supports the Bitcoin Lightning Network, a second-layer protocol that enables instant transactions with the lowest possible fees.
- Two-Way Bitcoin ATM. As the name suggests, this ATM supports both buying Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies with cash and selling them to withdraw banknotes. This type constitutes less than 10% of the market.
- Two-Way Bitcoin ATM with Bitcoin Lightning Support: This is the most capable type, supporting both Bitcoin Lightning for instant transactions and the ability to sell crypto for cash.
